It can be difficult to choose the right shoes – especially when buying shoes and rubber boots for your kids. Children’s feet vary and the use vary with age, activity and season.
The ones using the shoe are the ones that best feel where the shoes pressure points are. This applies especially for children’s feet, as they differ from adult’s feet in many ways:

- Kid’s feet are soft – the first years of life the feet consist mainly of cartilage
- Kid’s feet grow as much as 2 cm a year
- Kid’s move a lot – they can take as much as 19.500 steps a day
- Kid’s sweat a lot on their feet – as much as 0,2 dl per foot a day
The child has not always developed a language or a concept understanding that makes them able to give precise feedback on how the shoe works for them. Later on, as the shoe is being used - us parents can make up our mind regarding functionality and quality and ask the child to describe how they experience the shoe on the foot and in usage.

- Is the summer shoe airy and breathable
- Does the shoe fit the foots shape
- Can the child take it on and off
- Does the sole have good grip
- Does the foot get enough support
- Does the child outgrow the shoe before it is worn out

Twice a year we look for Viking Testers, this way both our winter and our spring collection is tested.
